RFC: remove 1-1 kerning from Adobe Palatino?

Adobe's Palatino has one very annoying feature:

All digits have equal width, but there is a kerning
between two adjacent letters "1" defined. As a result,
tables do sometimes not align.

I think about fixing this with the next release of PSNFSS:
The tfm's and vf's distributed in lw35nfss.zip will perhaps
longer contain this kern.

Do you believe that this is a correct way to tackle the
problem? In theory, line and page breaks of existent
documents may change; in practice, this is very unlikely
to ever happen!

I'd like to hear your opinion!

TIA

Walter
