[metapost] Can't get write/scantokens to work.

So, I switched (painfully) to TeX Live 2007.  It seems, well, fun :-)
And as you proposed your help ... ;-), 

1. I had to add a « TEX = latex » in texmf.cnf, otherwise tex would
complain with a 
---! /usr/share/texmf-var/web2c/pdftex/latex.fmt was written by pdftex

Well, let's say it's ok (or let's say it's not, and I'll report it),

2. mpost now works, but mptopdf gives me :
! Undefined control sequence.
l.44 \documentclass
                   {article}

Heck.  And I can't get it to use latex.

3. So I used mptopdf --rawmp (don't know if its The Right Thing to do).
But I have a font problem (namely that it wants to use a 72dpi font)

So I can't test that everything works right, but I'm still searching for
solutions :-)
