Your welcome! Vladimir Lidovski recently uploaded a Russian translation
to CTAN:
<URL:http://tug.ctan.org/tex-archive/info/metapost/doc/russian/mpman-ru/>.
You might consider asking him directly for problems, how much time he
spent with that or what he would do differently now.
Here are some other random notes:
* The manual has originally been written in TeX, and even if it is now
compiled by LaTeX there is a lot code that qualifies as bad LaTeX. This
shouldn't be a problem for you, but in case you wonder ...
* If you want to maintain the translation (developers don't have enough
skills and manpower for that) there are several ways to follow MetaPost
development:
+ The Subversion repository can be accessed as described here:
<URL:http://foundry.supelec.fr/scm/?group_id=13>
+ The repository can also be tracked by mail via the metapost-commits
list:
<URL:http://lists.foundry.supelec.fr/mailman/listinfo/metapost-commits>
+ Regarding the manual, there is a loose to-do list in file
manual/TODO, that contains some tasks possibly done next.
Contributions by MetaPost users are hearty welcome, BTW!
* We have recently moved the section describing the boxes package into a
separate manual. Even if you don't want to translate "Drawing graphs
with MetaPost", please consider translating "Drawing boxes with
MetaPost". It's four pages of text only (the remaining five pages are
code, tables and index).
Best regards,
Stephan Hennig
