You would also need to install a unix shell, but there are better
options.

1. set prologues:=3 in the metapost source. This will create
    a proper EPS with no further processing required.

2. use mptopdf. If you have a TeX installation, you probably
    have this command already. It will convert to pdf (not eps)
    though.
