[metapost] Difference between "mpost file.mp" and "mpost ./file.mp"

Hm, it's not so much that "./myfile.mp" starts with a dot. I see the
same behaviour if I use the entire absolute path ("mpost -tex=latex
/home/username/mydir/myfile.mp").
