[metapost] Equation solving in Metapost ??

Maybe. We'll see.
But the path stroking problems are just geometry problems, and that's my field of expertise, so I feel confident in that area. Writing a parser is something that's better left to Dr. Knuth.

You're going to have trouble with bitmaps and path stroking, not
with equation solving.
