[tex-k] dvips error: shell command execution in \special fails for metapost labels

Hi,

The following commands result to a failure (see attachments):

    mpost test
    tex test
    dvips -R0 test
    ps2pdf test.ps

But if we change

    psfile="`cat test.1"

into

    psfile="test.1"

OR if we do not use

    label(btex hello etex, origin);

then all is OK.
