[tex-live] texdoctk, win32

I have spent a few time trying to make it work cleanly under
windows. My point is that the new autorun app (TeXLive.exe) will let
users run texdoctk even before installing something.

Currently :
- texdoctk can run windvi to view dvi files
- texdoctk can launch .ps or .pdf files through their associatied applications
- configuration parameters are fixed for win32
- I _could_ let people print files though associations if the
application is smart enough to do it (e.g. : windvi is flakey in this
area) but does it mean something to allow people to print documents directly 
from texdoctk under windows, because any windows app will let the user
do it if that's what he wants? My point is that it would be safer to
forbid 'print' under windows.
- many files referenced in the .dat db are not found, others are in
dvi format where we have pdf or ps ones, so how to build
(automatically ?) a .dat file for the texlive ?
- many .ps files are in fact .ps.gz files and might need to be uncompressed
(does gswin32 handles compressed files ?). Also there is the problem
that gsview is not free and it not so easy to view .ps files under
windows. 
- I wonder if it could be easy to mark files (with an icon ?)
depending on their format, so that the user knows before clicking what
kind of file he is trying to display, even disabling them if the
viewer is not available.

What do you think ? Any input is welcome,
