I must admit that the 'live' thing is not as much interesting as it used
to be due to the dvd thing. However, I may have a usable subset of the
current TL which fits on a cdrom and that could be used on both linux
and win32.

At least for Windows, that wouldn't work. And there are many things you
can't just 'make' in Master/ (even if that would be desirable).
