when I put up a package, I try to run the documentation files to .dvi;
that is, if I can work out which the documentation files are by
automated means (I tend not to have time to read the notes unless I am
feeling exceptionally patient).

tell me which your packages are, and I'll trace the build through to see
why you have no docs.
