[tex-live] redhat and TeX

FYI, I contacted the redhat person (Tim Waugh) responsible for TeX about
the possibility of using TL in redhat instead of base teTeX. His
response boils down to:

1) teTeX 2.0.2 is in the rh development release (rawhide) now. I
think/hope that means it will be in the next general rh release.
   So that is good.

2) The basic prerequisite for doing anything is to make rpm's. This
seems like it could be very useful for some people even if rh itself
does not adopt them for the basic system.

Is anyone (or any group) interested in starting work on that? It's
obviously a very large and complex job that will take a long time.
