I'm using the current stuff ;-) And I strongly suggest switching
to it.

all CDs/DVD have ptmr7t ptmr8t and those tfm files are _always_
installed as part of psnfss package in tex-latex collection

As for "demo" or any other distribution: tex4ht is not installed
in 'recommended' scheme but can be added during installation or later.

"demo" cd doesn't contain huge cm-super, but at the moment
tldoc for English, French and German needs them for producing
.ps and .pdf version. :(

I don't understand well all those tricky font substitutions behind the
scene, so could somebody check only that part and switch to lm fonts?
I think that is something near altt.sty loaded in tex-live.sty.
Thanks in advance.

Map files on "demo" and other: on Windows running updmap
makes good hard copies. For "run off cd-rom" it copies ready made
map files to temporary directory also as hard copies and now it
works well (Fabrice, do you remember, it was corrected some days ago).

Thanks,
