Sure. 

Apart from 'Digital Typography Using LaTeX', there has been a German
book called 

"LaTeX für Dummies"

Volker (or maybe Klaus?) will give references for the other two I guess.

I should check about the ones published in France (by O'Reilly for
example).

At the very minimum. But that needs some thinking.

As I said, we have reached a point where we should ask ourselves what to
do with texlive.
