    i was just wondering if there is now some steps to follow/guidelines
    for publishers who want to include cd's to their books

Yes, I wrote a section about this during the brouhaha last year, in
the top-level LICENSE.TL.

Both of the publishers (German and American arms of Addison-Wesley) last
year were very cooperative.

    (apart from an invitation to donate to the project)

Good point.  I've added that to LICENSE.TL now.
