Chicken, meet egg.
With the changes to the format files and options and stuff, I need
feedback from users of the new binaries in order to know whether there
are any bad mistakes left. Happily, some things that would have been
showstoppers were found -- that Thomas is using much the same source
in the teTeX-beta helps here as well.
Also, other change requests tend to dribble in over time, and will
continue, up to the point where I get told that we have to have a code
freeze. (For example, the discussion about backward compatibility of
options, and whether aleph and omega shouldn't just parse-and-ignore
options like -translate-file and -8bit.)
Coming up is a bit more of that, as well as some changes requested to
get cross-compiling work better for the Cygwin maintainer (I _think_
I've got that part down to something small and simple now.)
