I would have never expected you to make the mistake to stack 
LaTeX (a format) together with pdfTeX and eTeX (engines). This 
is one of the main problems of Omega latests (post 1.15), its 
being too format-centric.

If I could dedicate myself to Aleph full time, pdfTeX 
functionality would be there. I can't, because I'm working on 
my PhD. Sorry, you'll have to wait another couple of years.
