the problem with hyphenation patterns (currently) is that the files are tex 
files and hardly deserve the name generic

maybe -as a precursor to a better way of dealing with this- we need to consider

/texroot/texmf/hyphen/tex
/texroot/texmf/hyphen/omega

anyway, even today i think that

/texroot/tex/omega/

would be an option. omegahyph is a bad name unless we have texhyph as well

since there is a relation between font encodings and hyphenation patterns, 
it would even make sense to organize things under fonts but maybe the omega 
patterns don't have that dependency.

(i suggest that we leave cleaning up / reorganizing hyphenation stuff till 
next year, and just put the omega specific files under the main omega path)
