[tex-live] bug in the latest TeX Live snapshot.

    error can be reproduced, seems to be something with etex:

The problem happens in DVI output too.  The file below (same as
Hartmut's except with conditionals) gets

Overfull \hbox (20.0pt too wide) in paragraph at lines 16--17
[][][][] |

when processed with etex, the current TL binary for i386-linux, namely:
This is pdfeTeXk, Version 3.141592-1.20a-2.2 (Web2C 7.5.3)

Same error with the etex from TeX Live 2003.  Does not happen with "tex"
(not surprisingly :).
