Not that I recall, although I guess you found them in Mongolian or
something?

    BTW, it is very important IMHO to inform users that they have to use
    type1ec.sty in case they want outlines only for EC, FC, Russian, and
    Greek fonts.  Has this already been done on prominent places of the
    documentation?

Not "already", but I am planning to put it "prominently" in the usual
list of changes at the end of the texlive doc, and probably on bugs.html
too, like I did with the map dir move last year.
