[tex-live] Whitespace in file name with all but plain TeX fails

the windows version already supported "file name" (and some more things like url inclusion)

the question is: where does this tak eplace, in the kpse library of in pdftex; if i remember right, kpse now does handle it too, so maybe the two mechanisms interfere in the unix branch
