While on the subject of things to fix: can we have the texmf.cnf files as
synchronized as possible?

Currently, there is one in Master and there is one generated by "make
install".

Currently, the one in Master is leading. In my opinion, the one from make
install should be leading. That one should (when it changes) be installed
in Master. But either way, they should both be the same.

PS. Karl, you can pick up updated binaries for Mac OS X from the usual
place. The i686 ones have beeen recompiled on an updated Mactel system.
