[tex-live] Question about TeX Live Installation

here i still have the very slow DVD installation caused by lots of DVD
seeking. Simple experiment:

mkdir /tmp/xxx
cd /cdrom/texlive/texmf-dist/fonts
cp -a * /tmp/xxx

and the DVD starts rather periodic seeking here and copies damn slow,
this simple copy of 425 MByte needs 7:40 minutes here, 1 MByte/s,
AMD64-3700 sarge. A simple tar on the harddisk takes a few seconds. I
have checked by ls -i the inode numbers for the copied sequence of
filenames on the DVD, but the inodes are near to each other, there is
nothing suspicious. Some DVD housekeeping that forces seeks? But if one
is patient, finally everything is ok.
