I assumed some massaging would take place in the executable. As I
understand it, there is absolutely no way to get a double quote in
a filename using the current syntax. If TeX would allow and convert
("...\"...\"...") to (..."..."...) the problem of using the correct
quotes for the current shell would be passed back to the user.
