A follow-up: The AFM file `pcrr8a.afm' in TeXLive doesn't fit with the
file `pcrr8a.pfb' (Courier version 001.003).  The latter doesn't have
`Idot' but `Idotaccent'.

After some further inspection I've found out that it's even worse: For
example, the glyph `zdotaccent' is present in the font but not in the
AFM, or the glyph `zcaron' is mentioned as a composite only in the AFM
(having a `CC' line) but is a real glyph in the PFB, etc., etc.
