When I updated the repository today I saw that a package had been
updated. I don't know whether this had been done for testing only.

Before anything is updated, I think that we should make a decision
first whether we stay with p4 or move to svn.

I fear that svn had not been tested extensively yet. What I and
Staszek had done so far is to try to update from rev1001 to the
current revision using my script. But only a few files had been
changed between these revisions. A more natural test would be
updating the lm fonts, for instance.

Karl, can you save the current state of the repository (svnadmin dump)
so that we can use the repository as a sandbox for a couple of days?

It would be bad if we make a decision now and run into problems later.

For me it doesn't matter very much which tool we use. I don't have
any experience with p4. It seems that some people are not completely
convinced that it is the best solution, but I don't know the reason.
I have the impression that people who are using svn for other projects
like it very much.

Regards,
  Reinhard

Microsoft isn't the answer. Microsoft is the question, and the answer is NO.
