Debian also only has libfontconfig.so.1.  Sarge has 1.0.4, etch will
have 1.1.0.  But since the soname didn't change, a binary that's
dynamically linked against 1.0.4 should work with 1.1.0 as well.  I
think being conservative gives the greatest chance of being compatible. 

How ist that all going to work on Windows?
