That's quite difficult to answer, because my perceptions are
blurred by the passage of time. I am reasonably confident that
there /was/ a time when I used MikTeX, but I seem to recall that
I ran into some problems which I was unable to solve. I therefore
consulted Sebastian (he and Chris Rowley are the two people to
whom I turn when I am /really/ stuck), and he advised that I
migrate to TeX Live. This I did, and I have never looked back.
The support for TeX Live is second to none : Sebastian, Fabrice,
Karl -- to name but three -- have never failed to try to offer
advice when something has gone wrong, and even if some things
have turned out to be impossible (such as some of the
installation options under Fabrice's installer, which simply
couldn't cope with the way I wanted to set things up), there
has never been a situation in which I have felt that things
might have been better had I stuck with MikTeX.

But perhaps I should add one observation : were it not for
Aleksander Simonic's willingness to /support/ TeX Live
under WinEDT, things might have turned out very differently :
as far as I am concerned, my basic requirements are WinEDT,
PdfeTeX, and Adobe Acrobat. So long as these three work,
and I can add (for example) Claudio Beccari's Greek fonts
without major difficulty, then I have everything that I need.

** Phil.
