Hi all!

Ok, I did:
- svn sync of texlive, ie getting Functions.pm
- build a new iso with MakeImage
- removed the complete installation of TL2007
- reinstalled TeX Live from the new iso image
- installed latexextra, fontsextra, and some other things

This problem is gone, I didn't have to call updmap.

But, opening a file which uses nothing special but t1/fontenc (so it
should get cm-super fonts) the dvi viewer creates pk files.

No idea whether this is intended.

Still here

Ok, as mentioned, I installed ruby: I downloaded ruby 1.8 (whatever),
started the installer which put everything into c:\ruby.

After a reboot texexec is working. I didn't have any files for checking
at hand.

Strange enough, I can NOT confirm this. I get the same error. I checked
	ISOIMAGE/archive/bin-perl.zip
and the file is still not included. So something is still missing ...

--------------------------------------

One more thing which I found interesting:
dvi viewer shows the followng warning on one test file:
Unknown special:! /pgfH{/pgfheight exch def 0.75 setlinewidth [] 0
setdash /pgfshade {pgfA} def /pgfdir { dup 0 moveto dup 5 index lineto }
bind def} bind def

--------------------------------------

Ok, that's it for today ...

Best wishes

Norbert
