[tex-live] Bug in TexLive 2005 and 2007? Non-writable aux-file

I can/will, but better tomorrow when I am the
office; however, I suspect that VMS will
have no problem opening ex.tex for output,
since it will simply create a new version
(i.e., file with next higher version number)
of the file.
