ok, I was just woundering, since those tools were mentioned in the LaTeX 
Companion, but they were not widely available.

I ended up recommending japref i stedet, which might be a lot easier for 
Winows users to use, and is easy to install being Java based.

I don't know anything about C programming or writing Makefiles etc. I know 
how to compile something from source but that is it.

I usually work in Perl.
