I don't know the behaviour in the past.

The manual page says:
| -l, --list
|     Just list all files that match name, do not start a
|     viewer.

Then the conclusion could be: It was also broken in the past. ;-)

Thanks. Otherwise it would be difficult to write the documentation
that describes and explains the behaviour usefulness of option --list
to a naive user like me. :-)
