Hmm, another weird thing to try to understand.

    texlive.infra: revision in ftp://tug.org/texlive/tlcritical is less  
    than local revision, not updating.

You're right, that is puzzling.  I thought I had put the actual rev
numbers into that message, too.  Will do that now, which might shed some
light on it.
