[tex-live] newbie question on TexLive install for Ubuntu 8.10

First, please excuse me sending this to this email site if it is not the
correct one.

Second, I am a long-time LaTeX user, but only on Mac OS X. I now am
loading TeXLive2008 onto Ubuntu 8.10 Linux running on a Samsung NC10
box.

I have tried to find answers elsewhere.

Problem: After executing ./install-tl, the installation seems to work
fine, to a point. Files load fine until the installer tries to load
coordsys, at which point the installer then delivers a "can't open"
message and exits (see below). The file IS in the disto, as I can find
it easily and in the right place.

Might you respond or provide a site to where I can send this message?

Thank you,
