Interesting.  In /usr/local/texlive/2009/tlpkg/tlpobj/dancers.tlpobj,  
the word 'character' in the last line of longdesc is surrounded by  
single quotes (Unicode 0x2018 and 0x2019).  Using `tlmgr show dancers`  
in Terminal, I see small a with circumflex for each quote mark.

TLU uses `tlmgr show` for the info panel, and tries to interpret the  
output as UTF-8.  If it's not valid UTF-8, MacRoman is assumed, since  
it's gapless and you'll always get something out of it.  In this case,  
the .tlpobj info appears to be reencoded incorrectly before I get it.
