[tex-live] problem with fonts -- how do i debug this?

Hello Akira, 助けてくれてありがとう。「きんだい」ってどこですか?

I tried your commands, and you are right -- the pdftex.map file does not
contain the entries for MinionPro-It-Base. Since the other minionpro
variants have a very larege number of entries each, I will first try to dig
and see why those font entries are not generated.

Ill report back here what I find in case its useful to others.
