localised bandwidth.  mine is the only ctan node which doesn't have a
mirror in its own country -- anyone in the uk who goes to
mirror.ctan.org

other national domains get spread out.

pass.  i don't even run tl 2008, i just make it available.

my interest in all this is to ensure that no-one is persuaded to take me
over my bandwidth limits (again).

world wide?  not something i would want to be involved in (ctan shut
down all nfs access an age ago, having analysed the feeble security
available).
