[tex-live] Interference with Embarcadero C++Builder?

Yes, I know that internally both slashes are
acceptable, but if pre-TL2009 a user has a
path containing only backslashes, and post-TL2009
he finds that some of these have mutated to
forward slashes, then he is likely to be
(perhaps more than) a little concerned ...
