Ouch, it seems that you don't have a compiler installed, or something
else very strange is going on.

Can you send me the output of
	ld --help


Karl: It seems that config.guess expects having a compiler installed
by using ld --help and searching for a line:
    ld: supported targets: elf64-x86-64 elf32-i386 a.out-i386-linux pei-i386 pei-x86-64 elf64-l1om elf64-little elf64-big elf32-little elf32-big srec symbolsrec verilog tekhex binary ihex
(output of my ld --help).

If that is true we actually should *PATCH* the config.guess script to
NOT do that.
