We had a discussion back then, where to put asy config files. I was
for $TEXMFCONFIG tree (by default under $HOME or $USERPROFILE), where
we put all other config files, but I failed to convince others at the
time and asy retained its defaults also in TL builds. There was
ASYMPTOTE_HOME variable added instead that can be configured in
texmf.cnf to repoint asy config location to a different place.
