Well, how about uploading a new flashcards.dtx to CTAN?  That does not
imply "taking over maintenance", which everyone seems to be so scared
of.  If someone had done that instead of messing around with bug
databases this could have been fixed long ago.

The diff on http://www.feferraz.net/en/P/Flashcards_in_LaTeX appears to
be trivial.  (Too bad about the backward-incompatible geometry.)

I'll do it if no one else does, but I do have a few other things to get
to first :).
