I can only add my voice to that plea.  However, I was reminded by Karl
that this perl contortion is a time-honoured standard from the down of
perl and thus I added support for it.

For the record, I currently don't make use of any file associations on
the system, so if you have, e.g., myperl.exe associated with .pl files
it won't be used.
