[tex-live] Fwd: include directories to search for additonal files like *.bib *.sty, etc.

Well, unless I'm mistaken, there's no TEXMFHOME on MikTeX, so even your first
advice was slightly distro-dependant (a more "portable" advice could be "put the
files in one of the TDS trees provided by your distro).

Now, I realise my previous reply wasn't so clear: IMO the question is
appropriate both on texhax and here, since the poster doesn't know a priori if
there is a distro-independent solution. (Unlike some other questions which
clearly doesn't belong here at all.)

Well, IMO they're fine if they are wrapped in a script or a Makefile.
