[tex-live] tl2010: no backup for auto-removed pkgs

I understand and share the feelings of the author of the original
post: When package is removed the user feels hi/herself robbed,
deprived and cheated even if he/she never used, never intended to use
and had no slightest idea what this removed packaged had been for. "It
is my precious!" :-) The original author was hurt even more: he had as
he defined pristine distribution (just installed!) and then this
pristinness was brutally violated by TL team. It is the same feeling
as for the scratch on the new car or the fly on just painted and not
dried out wall :-)

Well, one can always run update with --no-auto-remove switch.

More serious case is if after update package becomes broken and it
happens even with the really used packages. But there is back-up for
this.
