Wow, that was fast!
I've tested it under XeTeX and it's working perfectly -- the driver is automatically detected and files are embedded as expected.

I really appreciate the effort. The next version of asymptote.sty will support embedded asymptote graphics through XeTeX, now. (Actually I think it might "just work" automatically, already.)
