[tex-live] help with managing text live installation

Hi all,

I have been learning to use Latex for a few months now. I originally
installed texlive using (K)unbuntu (debian) package managers. This
worked well for staters, but now I'm looking to upgrade my installation
and I find that using the debian version of texlive is restrictive.

I looked at texline and found that I can install texlive using software
from tug. I just recently did the install. Everything ran successfully,
and I confirmed that some of my existing tex code works.

I tried running 'tlmgr' to install a package. It seemed to run
successfully also, but I no way from running the command to verify that
the package is indeed installed. I plan to write some tests for the
package which will confirm that install was successful.

This is all the lead in to my question. Is the a way, with 'tlmgr' to
list the packages and tools that are installed?

I read over the tlmgr documentation but I did not find what I was
looking for.
