In TL2011; but we keeping also TL2010 (actually I deleted 2009 just to
have a space for 2011)

You are right: if  I just launch
/usr/local/texlive/2010/bin/x86_64-linux/asy, it does not do anything
useful - but if I have /usr/local/texlive/2010/bin/x86_64-linux in my
path it works properly.
