Because the only way things get done is because some people step up and
do tasks that belong to others.

Linux distros have made the mistake of trying to replace windows
without guidance to users on the things they need to learn.   Windows
is like ordering take-out -- all you can get is neatly wrapped packages
which may or may not meet expectations.  Linux is like a high-end
restaurant kitchen -- capable of producing great results in the hands of a
properly trained chef, but the sharp knives and hot stoves are potentially
dangerous to someone whose previous experience is limited to ordering from
the take-out menu.

Clearly the OP needs to read and understand some basic unix concepts --
maybe <http://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/debian-reference/ch01.en.html>
will help.
