Why TL why not miktex? Certainly as a package author I wouldn't take such a
suggestion seriously. I happen to know that TL is finalising TL2013 but for
example just yesterday something came up on tex.stackexchange that could
perhaps be a longtable bug (if so it's probably 25 years old :-) If I can
find time to remember how the heck that code works I'll fix it when I find
time. It might just scrape in to TL2013 or (more likely) it might just miss
or I might not be able to fix it anytime soon and it'll go in TL2014 or it
might be user error and not a bug in my code at all, the TL release
schedule just needs to roll on. Package authors can not synchronise with it
and it can not wait for every package.
