[tex-live] Problems installing TL'2012 PreTest

I have had the same problem with trying to use the 2013 pretest. As has
already been noted, one MUST DOWNLOAD THE install-tl PACKAGE FROM THE
PRETEST SITE! This isn't clear on the pretest instruction page and it's easy
to assume that: "the most easily acquired 'install-tl' package" + "pointed
to the pretest repository" = "successfull install of pretest".
