Dear all,

I'm trying to use a .mf font, but TeX complains with

  $ tex Cardine.tex
This is TeX, Version 3.1415926 (TeX Live 2013)
(./Cardine.tex
kpathsea: Running mktextfm cardine
mktextfm: Cannot find mktex.opt; check your installation.

Taking a look at mktextfm, it calls

kpsewhich --format='web2c files' --must-exist mktex.opt

which doesn't find the file, which is accessible in

/usr/local/texlive/2013/texmf-dist/web2c/

:

  $ ls -l /usr/local/texlive/2013/texmf-dist/web2c/mktex.opt
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4752 avril  7 20:49
/usr/local/texlive/2013/texmf-dist/web2c/mktex.opt

  $ kpsewhich /usr/local/texlive/2013/texmf-dist/web2c/mktex.opt
/usr/local/texlive/2013/texmf-dist/web2c/mktex.opt

  $ kpsewhich --format='web2c files' --must-exist mktex.opt
  $

Am I the only one in this situation? How can I fix this?

Thank you,
--
Elie
